'''Category:Orphaned talk page''' — the [[talk page]]s listed in this [[Special:Categories|category]] here on this WikiIndex wiki site are '[[orphan]]s'.  That is, they do not have an associated [[article]] in the [[main]] namespace page, or other [[WikiIndex:Namespace conventions|namespace]] such as [[Category|Category:]], [[File|File:]], [[Help|Help:]], [[Template|Template:]], [[:Category:WikiIndex|WikiIndex:]] (this latter instance is a special namespace which is mapped directly from the site {or project} name), etc.  One common scenario is when a registered [[user]] or [[IP editor]] receives a message on their [[WikiIndex:Talk Pages for Wiki People|user talk]] page, but (for whatever reason) they do not create their own actual [[user page]].  Another scenario can be as a result of [[Help:Renaming pages|moving]] pages, and the related [[redirect]] pages created as a result of moving pages; double or multiple redirects are a particular cause of this problem.  A third example is when a talk page (in any namespace) becomes excessively long or out-dated, and is moved to an {{tag|TalkPage Archives|archive}}.
