<b>Wikigender</b> is your one-stop-resource on [[Archive.org:20151102060814/http://www.Wikigender.org/index.php/Gender_equality|gender equality]]. The website, which was launched by the [http://www.OECD.org/dev/ OECD Development Center] in March 2008, provides a rich base of detailed {{tag|country}} reports, {{tag|Statistics|statistical}} data, and in-depth analyses of current and emerging {{tag|gender}} topics.  What is more, the platform allows you to be an active part of the Wikigender {{tag|community}}, augmenting and improving available information through comments, [[edit]]s, or new material that you can draft or upload into this knowledge-base.

Wikigender tries to gather empirical evidence and identify adequate statistics to measure gender equality. In this respect, Wikigender serves as a pilot project for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) [[Archive.org:20140726060921/http://Wikigender.org/index.php/Global_Project_on_Measuring_the_Progress_of_Societies|Global Project on Measuring the Progress of Societies]]. Based upon the work of the OECD [[Archive.org:20130923091729/http://Wikigender.org/index.php/Gender,_Institutions_and_Development_Data_Base|Gender, Institutions and Development Data Base]], Wikigender aims to highlight the importance of [[Archive.org:20090609073014/http://www.Wikigender.org/index.php/Social_institutions|social institutions]] such as norms, traditions and cultural practices that impact on gender equality.

Wikigender is open to everyone. Whether you are a [[:Category:Student|student]], a [[:Category:Professional|professional]] working in an international {{tag|Government}}al organization or in a non-governmental {{tag|organisation}}, in a think tank, in a {{tag|research}} {{tag|institute}} or a statistical office.... you can access all resources provided on this website and use its contents for your own needs.
