''BioShock'' was released in the United States on August 21, 2007 for the {{tag|Xbox|Xbox 360}} and {{tag|PC game|PC}}, and October 21, 2008 for the {{tag|PlayStation|PlayStation 3}}. ''BioShock 2'' was released for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on February 12, 2010. The games take place in a formerly utopian city under the Atlantic Ocean, called Rapture. In the first game the player takes the part of a man named Jack, who was traveling in an airplane that mysteriously crashed near a lighthouse—the entrance to Rapture.
