According to Wikipedia, there are a few "blanket categories" of copyrighted images whose use has been generally approved as likely being fair use when done in good faith. Those include corporate logos. I think that since our usage is in an effort to describe the wiki and make it easier for people to recognize a particular wiki, our usage would be considered "fair use".
