3D Chess or Three Dimensional Chess, a Variant[edit]
There is much talk about or people searching for 3D Chess, but what does the word '3D' really mean? '1D' = one dimension or 'Length'. '2D' = two dimensions or 'Length' x 'Width' an ordinary chess board in which a piece can move on a flat plain board. It cannot move up or down. '3D' = three dimensions or Length' x 'Width' x 'Height' or as noted by the examples at the bottom of [[1]] and the pictures at [[2]]. All have HEIGHT added to the game allowing pieces to move to another board by going up or down. This game variant, '3D Chess - The Next Generation', relies on ALL of the traditional rules for chess. The only addition is the 2nd board and how each piece moves to that board. It takes the same amount of time and number of moves to complete a game. Me-3Dpg 16:51, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
