MetaWiki was a French-language former wiki engine and also a former wiki farm,[2] created and managed by Stephane Le Solliec from Angers in France. MetaWiki offered free personal wiki hosting, and also paid-for public hosting, priced at 2 Euros per month or 20 Euros per year.[3] The MetaCites was one of many wiki sites originally powered and hosted by MetaWiki,[4] but this subsequently converted to the DokuWiki engine.[5]
MetaWiki was founded in 2001, however, it's last known availability was late 2014. As of 2017, connecting to the website shows a message box, which says that the domain has expired. As of 2021, its original domain redirects to a list of tourist accommodation in Marrakesh, Morocco, oddly still retaining the original MetaWiki logo!
