Christophe! Nice to see you here. :-)

Also, very nice to have our first multilingual wiki person! Best, MarkDilley

Hi Mark and thanks. This WikiIndex is a very good initiative. I'll try to make my best to bring french wiki-people -- Christophe

Yea!! :-) MarkDilley

Caricature

Christophe, we're doing caricatures for wiki people we know and would be very happy to do one for you if you wish. Just upload or send me a pic and I'll have it done --Raymond King | talk 03:09, 4 Feb 2006 (EST)

Neat idea. I don't really feel at ease in publishing photos in wikis.Could you do something with that ? Portraitxtof2.jpg Have a nice week-end - xtof

Awesome that you've added French help, THANKS! --Raymond King | talk 18:51, 9 Feb 2006 (EST)

Is it ok raymond to create a category:aide ? Thanks to let me know. - xtof 19:37, 9 Feb 2006 (EST)

Sure, I think that means help in French, right? --Raymond King | talk 21:04, 9 Feb 2006 (EST)

Hot!

Love the front page of yours! see my thoughts from earlier at Category:Spanish - would that help organize language based content? Best, MarkDilley | talk

Hi Mark. Trying to follow on Category:French. Think it could be complex to multiply the categories language. How about using redirection ? I mean but still not sure for our future french and other languages subcommunity...

We could also invite people to tag articles with some tags I just found on YelloWikis :

To be completed. But for the moment, I see two main problems :

  • the ability for peopale to type some characters
  • the ability to understand all these languages

Should we build a table in order to ease redirections via a simple copy/paste extracted from a page like LanguageTagTable or something like that ? Really need your guidelines ;) -- Christophe Ducamp | talk 05:24, 14 Feb 2006 (EST)

Like some of your ideas above, but I was thinking sorta reverse:

But I am not sure about the language stuff! It can get overwhelming real quick! :-) MarkDilley | talk

Mark, I just tried the redirection mentioned... But reverted it because I felt completely lost ! Agree with you on the fact it could get overwhelming ... Still confused about the language base content. Not sure it's a simple way :-) Christophe Ducamp | talk 12:16, 14 Feb 2006 (EST)

Inactive

I see you picked right up on that! you might use the template:inactive, i think it's a bit easier?

Yes, for the future of defunct, it could be easier ? Just made first tests ! it works. Defunct is a huge category to move ;) -- xtof

yes, there are something like 200 inactives and 100 defuncts, but many overlap, so maybe only 250 in total :-)

ok. let's go ! I will begin by the end Z,Y,X, etc.. and one day we could meet :-) - x.

great idea :-)

You're technique for inactive wikis and mine are different:

Christophe example

 [[Category:Inactive]]

 {| cellpadding=5 border=0 align=right
 |
 {| cellpadding=3 align=right border=5
 |

 {| class="infobox" cellpadding=3 style="width: 23em; font-size: 95%; "
 |+
 |-
 ! style="text-align:right;" | [[image:Inactive.png]]

Ray example

 {{Inactive |

The reason I'm using the template this way is because we will later have the option to change the template to make a global change. Or do you have a reason that I'm not aware of? --Raymond King | talk 23:07, 15 Feb 2006 (EST)

Hi raymon. no reason at all to use the old template. I did not invent the previous one (this wiki-syntax if still too much complicated imho...). Just tested the new inactive template on ZaurusWiki to achieve Z inactive letter. Nice. Will follow-up soon to review Y,X,W and so on. Thanks for your new suggestion. Seems much more simple to use. I have to work now :-( Christophe Ducamp | talk 05:50, 16 Feb 2006 (EST)

Super, thanks :-) --Raymond King | talk 13:34, 16 Feb 2006 (EST)
