It isn't a good idea to switch over right before the weekend (I'm less available for troubleshooting on the weekend). Also, I still haven't sorted the issue with WikiEditor/Gadgets/CharInsert. : In the process of figuring out the issue with WikiEditor/Gadgets/CharInsert I've decided to upgrade to the latest release of mediawiki (1.24.1). This means that the wiki will be in read-only mode a bit longer than the 20 minutes I indicated before. More like 1-2 hrs (the database update takes a long time).
