In July 2012 the platform was renamed into Psiram. (Guido Watermann: Esowatch heißt jetzt Psiram, Telepolis vom 13. Juli 2012)
Public reception
The first major public reception was 2008 in the German online magazine Heise/Telepolis (Fabian Kunow: Licht ins Dunkel des Irrationalen, Telepolis vom 17. Mai 2008). Psiram's article on Prahlad Jani was referenced in the science blog Pharyngula, and their article on night milk crystals was referenced by the Guardian.
A German court based a decision partly on arguments collected by Esowatch [3]. Further, data from Esowatch was used in an inquiry in the Austrian parliament [4].
Criticism
Esowatch met harsh reactions on New Age blogs.
