: The idea on this wiki is that the main namespace is for all things wiki. Wikis themselves clearly are on-topic, as are articles about wiki concepts or wiki trends or whatever. Wiki people are also on-topic. So while User:Singkong2005 is an editor here, Chris is an actual person in the wikiworld, and that means a main namespace article on you is appropriate, and it can also serve as your userpage, since you're the same person. We're not so formal here as to have "policy" but active contributors meet every week or so to talk issues over. So far, we're all in agreement that wiki people should have articles. WardCunningham, for example. While we prefer that people use their name as their username, that's not policy, it's preference. So, the policy is for people with names to be in the main namespace, and those without to be in the user namespace. You're right that this is different here. Mediawiki evolved or projects where users were different from articles. Here we are the same. :-) Thanks! TedErnst | talk 02:31, 4 September 2006 (EDT)
: It's totally up to you, actually. Many of us have a similar "problem" of being active in multiple places, and then having to figure out what information gets duplicated on our various people pages. We don't have any guidelnes here about being "article-worthy" or anything like that. TedErnst | talk 14:41, 4 September 2006 (EDT)

Welcome to WikiIndex! I love your work. If you would consider using your name here that would be fabulous also. Best, MarkDilley
- Welcome Chris! To go a bit further with Mark's statement, we're encourging everyone to have a page for their name in the main namespace. Yours would be Chris Watkins, of course. Your user page could be redirected there and the talk page from there could be redirected here so you'd still get notification of messages. Hope this makes sense. peace, TedErnst | talk 21:38, 3 September 2006 (EDT)
- The idea on this wiki is that the main namespace is for all things wiki.
- It's totally up to you, actually. Many of us have a similar "problem" of being active in multiple places, and then having to figure out what information gets duplicated on our various people pages. We don't have any guidelnes here about being "article-worthy" or anything like that. TedErnst | talk 14:41, 4 September 2006 (EDT)
