May I propose improving the names of individual timezones, to a more logical and user-friendly way. I'm suggesting they all begin with the UTC and hour difference, then a dash, then either any local name or primary city. Timezone naming conventions
May I propose improving the names of individual timezones, to a more logical and user-friendly way. I'm suggesting they all begin with the UTC and hour difference, then a dash, then either any local name or primary city. A few examples:
- UTC+2 - Eastern European Time (EET)
- UTC+1 - Central European Time (CET)
- UTC+0 - Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
- UTC-4 - Atlantic Time (Canada)
- UTC-5 - Eastern Time (US & Canada)
- UTC-7 - Mountain Time (US & Canada)
- UTC-8 - Pacific Time Zone
- UTC-9 - Alaska Time
