The sole purpose of this '''Regional Association Wiki''' site is to provide a single point of collection for '''Regional Association''' ('''RA''') status and development {{tag|information}}.  It is a central collaboration point for all involved parties, with a focus on interoperability of the Regional Associations in the {{tag|United States of America}}.

Regional Associations (RAs) provide the primary framework for orchestrating the required collaboration within each {{tag|region}}, and are responsible for the design and coordinated operation of regional coastal {{tag|Oceans|ocean}} observing systems.  A [http://www.usnfra.org National Federation of Regional Associations] (NFRA) will represent the RAs at the federal level and coordinate the development of RCOOSs according to IOOS design principles.
