Here's the current state of project Wiki-Noding:

We can create boilerplate WikiNodes for the various engines, then visit each wiki from that engine and drop in the boilerplate on a page called WikiNode.

The second step, which we do not do, is to add a link from WikiIndex to the WikiNode in question. We don't do it because the boilerplate isn't useful as a WikiNode yet, until that community takes on the editing of the page. They can also come to WikiIndex and link from their page to their own WikiNode.

Wiki-Noding is an important project that will ultimately allow users to discover entire wiki worlds by traversing the node network. See WikiNodes for more info.

      • Amongst several issues, this brings up how to link back to WikiIndex. If we include a pointer back to our Wiki-Node, does that mean that we have to include them in our neighbor listing? Or should we just link back to the project? If we don't know of other wikis that would be included on the wiki node, should we hold off on creating one for a wiki? or not? Best, MarkDilley | talk

I propose that our policy goes on this page and discussion on the talk page. Please feel free to move discussion and this note to talk. TedErnst | talk 18:44, 5 Mar 2006 (EST)
