The following wikis are powered by the ProWiki wiki engine.

ProWiki development started in 2001 and since the it it used for wiki community projects at WIKISERVICE. It is GPLed in March 2006 to make it even more widely available.

Strength of the ProWiki engine:

  • the most flexible engine to build individual communities and to support special application needs from a single code base
  • the ability to host, support and moderate many wikis at one or more wiki servers (many cross-wiki abilities)
  • a consistent and extendible architecture grown in a long non-GPL development period
  • a dedication to support active elements and editable active content (like Flash, SVG, Java) through the wiki interface
