The Sci-fi Independent Wiki Alliance, SIWA for short, is an alliance of independent wikis about sci-fi topics such as TV shows, movies, games and books.
History
The idea for SIWA came from the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance except about sci-fi topics. The founding site was the independent Stargate Wiki. Several days later the alliance was joined by a German Stargate Wiki.
Name
SIWA is an acronym for Sci-fi Independent Wiki Alliance but SIWA is also name of a large Oasis in Egypt, symbolic of how these independent wikis are a welcomed respite in the sea of death that is wikis part of wiki-farms.
