WikiIndex: Disambiguation — sometimes there are two, or more wiki sites or wiki-related subjects with the same or similar name; like GoWiki. Or there is a name that's just inherently ambiguous, like AnUnnamedUseMod Wiki. So to clarify here on WikiIndex, we disambiguate (commonly referred to as 'dab' in the wikisphere), and name them AmbiguousName (qualifier)
, where the 'qualifier' will be either its domain or host. Wikis of identical names available in different wiki languages can use their two-letter language identifier as the qualifier.
A disambiguation page will be created with the base page name, and will list actual page names of articles (without any 'piped' corrections) of all available articles. We do allow red links on disambiguation pages.
Examples[edit]
For example, AnUnnamedUseMod Wiki
AnUnnamedUseMod Wiki here on WikiIndex may refer to one or more of the following:
|
Because its name is inherently ambiguous, we have added its domain name in parenthesis.
Another example is GoWiki.
GoWiki here on WikiIndex may refer to one or more of the following:
|
Usage[edit]
Simply add the {{Disambiguation header}}
at the top of the edit box, and {{Disambiguation}}
templates at the bottom of the relevant disambiguation article edit box (but above any category listings), and save your edit.
