This Category: TWiki is either empty, or sparsely populated,
and needs to be 'populated' with articles, stubs (and / or other categories)
relevant to the subject matter of this specific category.

Include an article page in this category via one (or more) of three methods:
a. add TWiki in the appropriate field of its infobox template
b. 'tag' a word within the prose of the article, eg. {{tag|TWiki}}
c. add [[Category:TWiki]] at the bottom of its edit box.

TWiki is a Wiki Wiki clone, (or fork), and has its root in JOS Wiki.[1] Founded 23 July 1998 by Peter Thoeny as an 'Open Source Enterprise Wiki and Web Application Platform', TWiki is primarily designed to be used at the workplace. Millions of people in over 50,000 organizations use TWiki at work, from small deployments to some large ones that have several 100,000 pages and over 10,000 users. In late 2008, Thoeny created a new company called TWiki.net and assumed total control of TWiki.

TWiki.org is a wiki site all about the TWiki wiki engine. This wiki supports the TWiki user and development community. The TWiki engine developers have targeted it mainly at corporate intranet use, but it is also fairly widespread on the internet (see list below). It is written in both Perl and JavaScript. The open source software is available for free (FOSS) under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPL v2).

"TWiki has been downloaded over 700,000 times and is used daily by millions of people in over 100 countries. Some larger deployments have over one million pages and over 10,000 users." (2021) There are also many public TWiki sites.
