Functionality[edit]
If you add your e-mail address to your account (at time of creation, or later) you will get additional functionality:
- The E-Mail Verification process increases credibility and therefore speeds up account creation.
- You can communicate with others local users not only publicly via their talk page but also privately via personal mail provided that they added their e-mail and configured it for this purpose.
- You can get several kinds of notification mails like notes that your talk page has been changed.
Liberty[edit]
For the creation of a new user account your e-mail address is not required.
You can withdraw or change the e-mail address associated with your account any time, as often as you like and whether or not the last address got verified or not.
Privacy[edit]
Only Sysops with Check user rights can see your e-mail address, along with those local users whom you wrote a private mail via Email this user function.
