Template:Wiki Engine

This Category: Wakka is either empty, or sparsely populated,
and needs to be 'populated' with articles, stubs (and / or other categories)
relevant to the subject matter of this specific category.

Include an article page in this category via one (or more) of three methods:
a. add Wakka in the appropriate field of its infobox template
b. 'tag' a word within the prose of the article, eg. {{tag|Wakka}}
c. add [[Category:Wakka]] at the bottom of its edit box.

Wakka,[1] also known as WakkaWiki, is a former lightweight wiki engine, written by Hendrik 'Morn' Mans[1] and Carlo 'Gossip' Zottmann[1] of Germany, in PHP, and using MySQL for data storage. The formatting rules are available on a page on the Opera Browser Wiki, and also available on the original WakkaWiki 'meta' and support wiki site. WakkaDev[1] was the development Wakka installation; a big wiki 'sandbox' install for testing new Wakka features. Sadly, the WakkaWiki engine became defunct sometime late-2004. Wakka is named after a character from the video game Final Fantasy X.

The WakkaWiki engine has seeded the spawn of a number of other wiki engines, which are forks; those being: CS Wiki[2] (formerly known as CityWiki), CoMaWiki,[3] CooCooWakka, UniWakka, WackoWiki (Russian-only), WikkaWiki, and WikiNi[4] (a French engine with English, Spanish and Esperanto support).

The wikis below run on the WakkaWiki wiki engine. Some are active, but many are dead. The wiki engine itself is no longer available, its URL, WakkaWiki.com, has been hijacked by another unrelated Asian blog site (which happens to use the same name)!
