So should I upload the logos of various wikis or should ask for and wait for explicit copyright permission from the owners? The upload page wants me to check a box saying I relicense the image to the Wikiindex copyright, but clearly I can't do that, as (1) i don't own the images, and (2) there is no Wikiindex copyright yet. Can we just put something like "...or is a logo (in which case we may use it under the fair use doctrine)" at the end of that checkbox? --[[User:BayleShanks|BayleShanks]] 00:50, 15 Feb 2006 (EST)

That's a good question.  Here's [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Logos Wikipedia on Logo usage]] and its [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Fair_use Fair Use]] guideline.  I think we need to read it carefully and see if we feel the same should apply here. --[[User:24.20.144.13|24.20.144.13]] 03:15, 15 Feb 2006 (EST)
