Description

Wiki for the active developer community of the D programming language. D is an object-oriented successor of C, competing with the big ones, C++, Java and C#. In statistics it is already among the top 20 programming languages.

D was created by Walter Bright and is to a high degree Open Source. D deserves interest because Walter was the genius behind some great C and C++ compilers, now building his own language avoiding the obvious problems and idiosyncrasies of the other contenders. D is a true native-code compiler and produces small high-performance executables in the spirit of C.
