The wiki engine UseMod Wiki was originally created for Adams's Usenet Moderation project (UseMod), a project that intended to moderate Usenet by ranking Usenet posts according to their quality. UseMod Wiki is open source free software, released under the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL). Notably, UseMod Wiki was selected as the original wiki engine to power the then new Wikipedia project in 2001; though UseMod Wiki was subsequently abandoned by Wikipedia in favour of their own newly developed MediaWiki software from January 2002.
The UseMod Wiki wiki forum is on Adams's internet domain: UseMod.com, together (originally) with Sunnir Shah's MeatballWiki. These two wiki forums, however, are totally separate from each other.
