Description
ProWiki documents the ProWiki engine and supports its user community.
ProWiki development started in 2001 and since then it is used for wiki community projects at WIKISERVICE. It is GPLed in March 2006 to make it even more widely available.
Strengths of the ProWiki engine:
- flexible wiki engine specialized for individual communities and application needs
- a consistent and extendible architecture grown in a long non-GPL development period
- a dedication to support active elements and editable active content (like Flash, SVG, Java) through the wiki interface
- the ability to host, support and moderate many wikis at multiple servers by cross-wiki abilities
