Wiki1001 was a directory of wikis around the world, where many wikis beyond Wikipedia were listed. Wiki enthusiasts could discover wikis of their interests, while wiki organizers could promote their wikis. Wiki1001's tagline was go beyond wikipedia • discover hundreds of wikis.
True to the wiki spirit, Wiki1001 was also a wiki. Anyone could edit the wiki directory list. This made Wiki1001 a wiki of wikis, like WikiIndex.
There was also a forum for wiki enthusiasts to discuss all things wiki.
Sadly, Wiki1001 went offline early 2011, taking down its list of over 215 wikis in its directory :-(
