Larry Sanger

Larry Sanger professes he co-created Wikipedia with Jimmy Wales in 2001, though Wales is adamant that Sanger was merely an employee. Following disagreements with Wales on the future direction of Wikipedia, including his strong desire to introduce advertising, he left Wikipedia shortly thereafter. Sanger subsequently founded Citizendium in 2006.
