Shut down wikis

We try to document wikis which have been closed as well as ones that are functional. So if you have two wikis with the same name or very similar ones, we don't want to delete the history of one of them and just replace them with the other but try to have entries on both. Can you explain a little about what's happening with these two similarly-named wikis? Koavf (talk) 12:41, 24 May 2017 (PDT)

@Koavf: The Admin Tools Wikia site has been shut down, as the requests for permissions page has been indefinitely fully protected. That's all I know about it, I haven't dug deeper since it doesn't appear to be active anymore. The Admin Tools Test Wiki is still active, although it's staff has been known to abuse username suppression (hiding names for reasons that shouldn't qualify). However, it is an active wiki for testing admin tools. -- Amanda (talk) 12:45, 24 May 2017 (PDT)

Hosting

Have You tried 1&1? I've got web-space with 1&1 and MediaWiki is one of their "apps". Installation was a no-brainer. No extra costs, if You got webspace there already. --Manorainjan 14:58, 24 May 2017 (PDT)

I don't have web space there already. Can you link me to that site anyway? -- Amanda (talk) 14:59, 24 May 2017 (PDT)
Originally its a German company, but They got subsidiaries in USA as well: https://www.1and1.com/ --Manorainjan 15:02, 24 May 2017 (PDT)
I don't want recurring payments. I want just a one-time down payment that's a reasonable price, or no fee at all. Recurring payments are annoying and I don't feel like keeping track of them. Therefore, I will not accept any hosting site that requires recurring payments. -- Amanda (talk) 15:06, 24 May 2017 (PDT)
