Erik Zachte is best known as being a Research Data Analyst at the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF). Zachte, from Leiden, Zuid-Holland, The Netherlands, began as a regular Wikipedia editor in 2002. From 2003, he started producing statistical information as a volunteer for various Wikimedia projects, where they are now published under the Wikimedia Statistics portal. From 2008, Zachte became an employee of the Wikimedia Foundation as an official Data Analyst, and as of February 2019, he is their Senior Data Analyst (Contractor), Research.
