Should we have articles about mirrors? Leucosticte (talk) 04:10, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Sure Why wouldn't we? Koavf (talk) 06:44, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Because there are so many sites that use Wikipedia content, for instance, that aren't wikis. Leucosticte (talk) 06:52, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Solution Make List of Wikipedia mirrors. Even though this site is ostensibly about all wikis and topics related to wikis, it probably would be a wasted effort to list every single site that scrapes data for Wikipedia. But there's not a problem with talking about mirrors. Either way, I don't know of any articles here on mirrors. Do you? Koavf (talk) 06:58, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

- I support the idea to list mirrors and to write help-text about how that works, not only tregarding those which mirror wikipedia. I imagine this wikis purpose to be also educative about all matters related to wiki. If it helps to create more understanding amongst wiki-readers when and how they are looking not in but at a mirror, it would be a good thing. Possibly there should be a separate chapter for mirrors like for WikiEngines, WikiHosting and WikiFarms. We got also a bit about archives that could be more detailed and comprehensive. Basically an archive is a mirror even for dead wikis ;-) It is a good thing to list a mirror, as long as it is clear, that it is a mirror and not an actual wiki. It may be going too far to make chapter for mirroring-engines unless they are very specific for wiki. There I would draw the line. Manorainjan (talk) 13:23, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
