IncelWiki.org (en) was created at en.incelwiki.org during January 2022, as a continuation of IncelWiki.com, by William and Proofreader. The .com domain now redirects to .org, but the wiki is set up a bit differently before. File names are more descriptive, and the wikis share a common media database, rather than separate ones like before. There is also no misogyny on the wiki, like there was before. Times change.

The wiki is fully functional, but still pending some graphic design updates and a new logo, and perhaps an additional caching server. This Incel Wiki is currently the largest Incel Wiki as far as article count and image/media count.

Birth

In 2021, an Epik domain registrar hack encouraged some people to attack the server admin of incelwiki.com. As a response, incelwiki.com was taken offline for three months from mid-October 2021 to January 2022. During this time server ownership was changed around, but the Mediawiki admins stayed the same. The site admins are still the original Incel Wiki admins and authors.

Europe vs USA

Unlike incelwiki.com, incelwiki.org is based outside the USA. This means that non-American visitors will experience faster load times than American visitors for the first time. Or at least until a caching server is set up in the USA.

Other wikis in the project include

Licensing

IncelWiki.com wiki content is not released for reuse under any specific single license. The English IncelWiki.com allows its contributors to release their own work under any license they choose, though typically, a Creative Commons license is selected; however, using no license is also an option.

Media

The English language IncelWiki.com was referenced in an academic paper of 2020 by Vanja Zdjelar of the Simon Fraser University in Canada, who described its split between the other incel wiki and IncelWiki.com, mentioning both by name.[1]

In late 2021, Political Research Associates referenced the wiki in their reporting on academics 'mainstreaming incels'.[2]
