Wikisource – The Free Library — is a collection of wiki sites, known as a linguistic edition 'project' of the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF), for primary-source and secondary-source texts, in many different languages. Launched as a single multilingual wiki in 2003 as a library of free texts called 'Project Sourceberg', by 2005 it branched out into separate wiki sites for each of its various language versions. Wikisource was subsequently expanded in its scope, and now includes house books, essays, poems, novels, historical documents, letters, speeches, and other documents; as long as they are able be made available under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (CC-BY-SA) open content license.
