WikiIndex talk:What WikiIndexers don't do

This diskussion page is an invitation to collectively make up our minds and define what WikiIndexers do and what not. The idea to create such explanatory page was inspired by the little discussion about "deleting" a Wiki. User_talk:Hoof_Hearted#Wikia_question I find it more appropriate to not discuss this on a personal talk page. Manorainjan (talk) 23:38, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Another level of another level

In the Wikipedia new editors often have some difficulties to understand, that they shall not 'create' something, only collect existent knowledge that is already published somewhere, cite references etc. It is certainly not always followed ;-) Its different from writing about something. You write about somebody who wrote about something. It is another level, requires abstract thinking and detachment.

Now, we here on WikiIndex do not write about 'things', we write about Wikis where people write about 'things' and about Wikis where people write about people who wrote about 'things' and so on. It requires more detachment. We write about dead Wikis and about Wikis which do not yet exist. It requires certain amount of neutrality. We care for statistics but we don't 'produce' numbers other than the number of entries here.Manorainjan (talk) 23:53, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
