Encyclopedia Dramatica's purpose is to provide a central catalog for the e-public to view parody and satire of drama, memes, e-pals and other interesting happenings on the internets. Its goal is to provide comprehensive, reference-style parody, to poke fun at everyone and everything on the internet.
Expect to find pornography, gore, etc.
As of 14th April 2011, Encyclopedia Dramatica had closed permanently and the address redirected to Oh Internet, which actually does use MediaWiki. A mirror site was put up very soon afterward with the same content as the old site.
Software
ED uses its own customized version of MediaWiki, MediaWiki 1.0.2-ED, with 15 extensions. noindex and nofollow are applied to special pages and to history pages, but not to edit pages or individual diffs. As a result, old revisions will sometimes appear in search engine results.
