This wiki about animation history, criticism, and film making was founded in 2/2006 hosted at Wikia.
The Animation Wiki which was launched through a class project for animation courses at Middlebury College and Swarthmore College in the Fall 2007 (animation.wikia.com) was abandoned since 2008 and then merged with cartoons.wikia.com.
