Questions about this wiki[edit]

I notice that this is linked from Community Portal. Should we add something to explain that WikiIndex people are involved with this? Also, it should explain whether it's a local thing (i.e. just N America, just NW US, whatever) or also caters for other localities; or if it's just local now, but warmly welcomes those doing the same thing elsewhere. --Chris Watkins/Singkong2005 talk 07:27, 15 September 2006 (EDT)

Yes, WikiIndex people happened to also be organisers (among others) of the first RecentChangesCamp in Portland in February. There were people from at least 3 nations in attendance. The second RecentChangesCamp will be in Montreal in May of 07. That should definitely be on the page, if it's not. TedErnst | talk 17:59, 15 September 2006 (EDT)

The Camp[edit]

Hey. How worthwhile is it to attend this? There is one coming up in like a week or two. I'd half to fly in to attend but I'm having interesting wiki management issues as we go through a lot of expansion... and it would be nice to interact and network with people who have dealt with similar issues. It just requires an airplane ticket and a few other things. Just not certain it is worth the cost. :/ --Purplepopple 08:37, 26 April 2008 (EDT)

In my opinion, it's worth it. It'll be a great group of people and a fantastic experience! -- TedErnst 13:08, 26 April 2008 (EDT)
(I reregistered after I read the use your real name thing.) They mention possibility of arranging couch surfing on their site. Any news on that or any place you could point out that would be helpful in that regard? --LauraHale 21:20, 26 April 2008 (EDT)

Dead[edit]

Is this dead? --Bob M 09:03, 16 September 2009 (EDT)

2010 needs an organizer. There are people who would be willing to support that lead organizer but some one needs to take the lead. --LauraHale 19:46, 16 September 2009 (EDT)

I emailed the person who hosts the wiki yesterday, after I noticed it was not up - I expect it will be up soon. Best, MarkDilley
