this template seems to provides a language-independend mechanism for getting access to Wikipedia statistics pages.

if you want to use it,

type:

{{wpstat|language code}}

and get something like:

or type:

{{wpstat|language code|}}

and get something like:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Statistics&action=
