Background Information

In 2009 the total population of Pakistan was estimated to be about 176,242,949 (July 2009 est.) with the average annual inter-censual growth rate at 1.87% per annum (estimates for 2005), placing it at seventh among the most populous nations in the world. Of the total population only 30% resides in urban areas.

According to most recent census the literacy rate is 54%, this becomes remarkably low in rural areas. Pakistan has very sound geographical location, agriculutural land and has rich human and natural resources, but theses resources were not utilized properly since from the inception of Pakistan. There could be many factors behind what I personally think that;

Pakistan was established on the ideology of Islam, and it was the main theme of independence moment that Islam will be the our supreme law and way of life, but unfortunately we have not followed that and went behind the earthly powers and that resulted in the curse of Allah in the form of corrupt leaders, social injustice and corruption in almost all spheres of life.

In last few years due to these conditions becomes quite drastic, especially terrorism has destroyed the whole social setups and economy that has put the ordinary people in real test. If we evacuate all these factors we need to judge our actions, that where we are wrong and what could be the solution of these problems.

“Ma’arij initiative” is one of the ideas to play our any role to help the suffering people. Especially those called “Safaid Posh”(who do not ask anyone). This will include people from all walks and any part of Pakistan.Prefrence will be given to disabled, Hemophiliacs, HIV infected/affected or anybody else.

We are not an NGO, CBO or any charity organization; we are just a group of people who is trying to perform their human and religious duty to help our brothers/sisters with our available resources.

A small amount One Lakh (10,0000)(this amount will be flexible) will be provided in the beginning as “Qarze Hasnah” to run a small business, whatever he/she wish to do. We will not expect anything from him/her for first six months of business, after that if his/her business runs into profit, he/she can give 5% of his/her monthly income to “Independence Fund”, in this way he/she is expected to pay back his Qarze Hasnah in quite reasonable time of his/her life. After paying Qarze Hasnah if he/she wills he/she can continue this contribution for many other deserving people.

Goal To empower the “Safid Posh”(who do not ask anyone) people to become independent through socioeconomic stability and spend their lives with dignity (INSHALLAH).

Objectives

a. Identification and Selection of the “Safid Posh” people from different walks of life b. Provision of the small amount of Qarz-E-Hasnah c. Remain in touch with these selected people. d. Try to mobilize maximum people to be the part of this initiative to carry on this noble cause. Each member will contribute minimum 1000/month e. Give responsibility to get maximum memberships and collect the funds from outside Pakistan e.g. Brother Farhan Akram from UK, Abdul Rehman from America and Asgar Ali from Holland etc on regular basis.
