These wikis are related, wholly or in part, to the Occupy movement; an international protest movement who 'occupy' public spaces which started in 2011. Facilitiated by modern electronic communications such as mobile phones and the internet, and using platforms such as instant messaging and social media (Facebook and Twitter), they aim to bring more fairness to economic policies by non-violent direct action, picketing, civil disturbance, demonstrations and the likes.
