I used to be a MediaWiki developer before I discovered low level languages and how to use Linux for more than just cd ls nano web hosting commands. I have Windows 7 and the free version of Visual Studio for working with C#, very similar to Java. I use a Linux VM for a lot of low level development. I use a VPS for Python web crawling and web automation.
