In case of a singular Wiki the archive would often only have top pages archived. Archived does not practically connote, that the whole content is available. Just like 'Active' does not mean that everything in THIS Wiki is perfect. When I as a visitor see the Archived tag, than I know I would find 'something' by clicking on the name-link. When it is tagged Dead I would not want to try to end up waiting for the 404 or the domain squatters page. I do not see any harm in including Archived in the legit attributes of this status.Manorainjan (talk)

:Nope, we ONLY categorise dead wikis as 'archived' when <u>more than the main page is archived</u>.  That means that at least some of the content pages are also archived.
Archived does not practically connote, that the whole content is available.
:I think that is long accepted.
Just like 'Active' does not mean that everything in THIS Wiki is perfect.
:Please include a URL of where we state WikiIndex is "perfect".  I personally have no recollection of WikiIndex making any such claims. :-/
When I as a visitor see the Archived tag, than I know I would find 'something' by clicking on the name-link.
:Agreed – just like every other URL on the internet, when you click on it - you hope something relevant will open up in your browser.  But sometimes, that doesn't always happen – Rick-Rolling on YouTube is a classic example!  WikiIndex is no different.
When it is tagged Dead I would not want to try to end up waiting for the 404 or the domain squatters page.
:That is your choice.  In a dead wiki article (with say just the front page archived), you can 'hover' your mouse pointer over all of the links in the infobox – and should notice from the tiny url pop-up which are the original (and therefore dead or cyber-squatted) urls, and those which have changed to archived urls.
I do not see any harm in including Archived in the legit attributes of this status.

:I disagree, quite strongly.  It is just not logical that you can archive the features and functions of a wiki host.  If the said wiki farm has a number of its former hosted wikis also archived (say more than 10%), then we can state that in the prose text of the farm article.  Sean, aka <small>Hoof Hearted</small> • Admin / 'Crat • <small>talk2HH</small> 10:27, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
