Surely this isn't correct. Can the edit protect be lifted for all – maybe include it in a special [[Special:Categories|category]] for potentially high [[vandal]]ism, where it can be 'watched' by all regular [[:Category:Active contributors to this wiki|users]] and [[:Category:Active administrators of this wiki|admins]], and any obvious [[spam]] be deleted or alerted to the [[sysop|admins]].
