Wikisphere: Difference between revisions

The '<b>wikisphere</b>' is made up of [[:Category:All|all wiki sites]], and any interconnections between them.  {{tag|Wiki}}s can influence, and may be influenced by one another; by borrowing their [[:Category:Wiki Topic|content]], migration or sharing of their [[:Category:Wiki People|active users]], documenting and critiquing their activities, serving as homes for refugees and [[:Category:Users who are globally blocked from Wikia|exiles]] from other [[WhatIsWiki|wikis]], etc.

On a {{Wp|Special:Statistics|vast}} wiki like the [[English Wikipedia]], a virtual community can form around one page, or one [[:Category:Wiki Topic|subject]] they are all interested in; write about, [[edit]], discuss.  Like {{Wp|de:Braunschweig|a page about a city}}, [https://Braunschweig.de real communities] form {{Wp|de:Wikipedia:WikiProjekt Braunschweig|virtual communities}} and {{Wp|de:Wikipedia:Braunschweig|vice versa}}.  Naturally, a bigger scope of [[wiki]] community are the [[Special:ActiveUsers|active users]] of one wiki site.  Beyond that, there are [[:Category:Wiki farm|wiki farms]] like [[:Category:Referata|Referata]], breeding places for initially mostly small wikis where the [[founder]] gets support from the community of the farm, or synergies are established like the [[Volunteer Spam Task Force]] (VSTF) on [[:Category:Wikia|Wikia]] where the individual wikis are not so individual, rather like offices in a big building, and you need only one [[user]] account to access them all.  Others prefer to call one server for the development for many wikis a '[[:Category:odd-wiki-hive|hive]]', like in 'bee hive', which is a charming [[Cambridge-Dictionary:analogy|analogy]] like {{Wp|anthill}} that illustrates the business of folks there, but does not reflect that there is no 'queen'.

The wikisphere after all, is the entirety of independent individuals, and their collaborations, which kind of culminates or confluences in this comparatively small wiki where it's [[WikiIndex:Community portal|community]] [[meatball:WhyWikiWorks|endeavours]] to build a dynamic hub for the multi-[[:Category:Wiki language|language]], international, and increasingly complex wikisphere.
