Is there an advantage to doing this here as opposed to within the article itself? Such as, can these numbers be pulled automatically to this page? Otherwise, doesn't this just add an unnecessary layer of complexity? --MarvelZuvembie (talk) 02:59, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

It simply adds an extra layer of complexity (because you'll still need to manually amend the date for the stats change!), especially to the behemoth that is Wikipedia. This kind of template may work ok on much smaller projects such as WikiMANNia - where the editors and sysops operate on all WikiMANNia language versions. This template, along with similar templates used on Wikipedia/Wikimedia need deleting, protecting from recreation; and their affected articles edited or reverted back to the individual manual method.
