:Most bigger sites run in [[mw:Manual:$wgMiserMode|miser mode]] to disable a bunch of badly-written and/or otherwise database-intensive features, one of which is the PopularPages special page (mind you, whenever there's a front-end cache, such as Varnish, involved, the page visit count data is wildly out-of-date and thus PopularPages is rather useless).<br />It's sad that whoever came up with the whole wF concept chose to use such an unstable metric for that. Luckily each MediaWiki installation has [[Special:Statistics]], which provides you with some actually ''useful'' data, which you can use to determine if the wiki in question is a [[Darthipedia|big]] or a small one. --[[User:Jack Phoenix|Jack Phoenix]] ([[User talk:Jack Phoenix|talk]]) 20:00, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
