Wikinews is a collection of wiki websites which present up-to-date, relevant, newsworthy and entertaining content; without bias, with content that is written by the volunteer Wikinews editors. A project of the Wikimedia Foundation, all content is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License, which makes the Wikinews content perpetually available for free redistribution and use.

As of October 2012, Wikimedia Meta-Wiki indicates that there are 33 Wikinews versions in different languages, with new languages added when there is significant support for the language. Meta-Wiki historical article new language pre-launch documents the evolution of some of the various language versions of Wikinews, and Meta-Wiki requests for new languages illustrates the process for all Wikimedia Foundation projects. Each language version is a sub-domain under the wikinews.org domain. The English Wikinews, for example, is at http://en.wikinews.org

All Wikinews in these languages: (edit)

10,000+: Deutsch (de), English (en), Français (fr), Polski (pl), Serbian (sr)
1,000+: العربية / Arabic (ar), Catalan (ca), Czech (cs), Greek (el) Español (es), Persian (fa), Finnish (fi), עברית / Hebrew (he), Italiano (it), Japanese (ja), Nederlands (nl), Português (pt), Română (ro), Russian (ru), Swedish / Svenska (sv), Tamil (ta), Chinese (zh)

The red-links here need their Wikinews URLs, the {{add}} template tag and the {{Wikinews}} template tag added.
