Officially launched on June 18th, 2009, WikiCity Guides makes towns accessible, defining each not just as a dot on a map or a collection of statistics, but as a chorus of raucous, opinionated people falling in love with their hometown all over again. WikiCity Guides is an on-line publisher designed to promote local commerce, community, tourism, and everyday life within any of the 22,000 U.S. towns it serves. It serves these communities much like an on-line newspaper, yet as a wiki, any of its readers are allowed to contribute content. Even in its infancy, with over 13 million pages, WikiCity Guides ranks as the largest wiki in the world.
