Category:In preparation is for 'newborn' wikis that are still getting ready for the public, though not yet officially released. The next status step would be category:New, then hopefully followed by category:Active! Ideally, this category should be checked on a regular basis – as most articles should be either moved to category:New – hopefully within six months, and certainly no more than a year without some kind of reason or justification.
