In 2009 in Turkey, following a regional Turkish court ruling (Denizli Criminal Court of First Instance), all websites hosted on Google Sites were blocked in Turkey. This was following a reaction after a Google Sites page included an alleged insult of Template:W, the founder of Turkey. Subsequently, in 2012 the Template:W (ECHR) ruled this blocking of Google Sites a breach of Template:W (Yildirim v Turkey – 3111/10 – HEJUD [2012] ECHR 2074).[1][2] This ban was overturned and lifted in 2014.[3]
