Description
In the age of cheap dot-matrix (LED and LCD) displays, segment displays may seem like an anachronism, but it’s still fun (for some) trying to make the bicameral roman alphabet work in seven segments for instance. Also, in some applications they are still favorable, e.g. because of price, power consumption, style or readability.
The primary focus is classic 7-segment displays seen on watches, calculators, media players (e.g. car stereos), price tags, meters, lifts, set-top boxes etc., but more advanced ones (e.g. with 9, 14 or 16 segments or even 38 and more as in Geascript) are also welcome. The wiki was created on 2 May 2013.
