The Gumstix motherboards can be as small as a stick of chewing gum, yet powerful enough to run Linux. The Gumstix Inc company also sells Gumstix electronic expansion boards, as well as giving away 'open-source hardware' information on how to design new expansion boards.

The official Gumstix User Wiki, originally found at Gumstix.net/wiki, then at wiki.Gumstix.org, and now at wiki.Gumstix.com, lets Gumstix users share their knowledge about Gumstix hardware technology, and the open source software that runs on it, showcase their Gumstix-based projects, and pass on links to other sources of information and materials. This information was entirely user generated and supported. The wiki became a little spammed with spam-bot account creations during the early months of 2011, but these seemed to be no worse than similar independent MediaWiki sites, and were dealt with by blocking from the wiki sysops.[1]
