The {{Wp|Low German}} language (''Plattdüütsch'', ''Neddersassisch''; {{Wp|ISO 639-2}} <tt>nds</tt>), also known as Low Saxon, is a West Germanic language variety spoken mainly in northern [[:Category:Germany|Germany]] (specifically {{tag|Schleswig-Holstein}}, {{tag|Hamburg}}, {{tag|Lower Saxony}}, {{tag|Saxony-Anhalt}}, {{tag|Mecklenburg-Vorpommern}}, and {{tag|Brandenburg}}) along with the north-eastern part of the {{tag|Netherlands}}.  It is also officially recognised as a minority language in {{tag|Bolivia}}, {{tag|Paraguay}}, and {{tag|Brazil}}.
